Bee Safe Events Hosted By NMD Council Across District

Newry Mourne And Down District Council has hosted Bee Safe events

Over 1,700 primary school children from across the Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Area took part in ‘Bee Safe’ events, held at various locations across the district from Monday 3 March to Friday 14March 2025.

The events aimed to teach children how to keep themselves safe and avoid potentially dangerous situations – particularly as they prepare for the transition to secondary education.

Organised by the Council’s Environmental Health Department (Health Improvement), the events gave children the opportunity to engage in a wide range of real-life health and safety scenarios which they may encounter in everyday life.

Pupils from three schools arrived at Newry Leisure Centre for the ‘Bee Safe Event’ organised by Ruth Hamilton Senior Environmental Health Officer NMDC.
